philip.spade@gmail.comI love noir. Plain and simple. I think the era of pulp fiction was one of the best literary periods in modern literature. Greats like Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, Robert E. Howard, and even H.P. Lovecraft were spawned by this same movement. And I've read 'em all. From the stories to the cover art, I love it all. Perhaps part of my fascination with the pulp genre comes from the inherent sexual nature of it all--femme fatales, pornography, and plain old sex fill the pages of many classic noir books. Most of it isn't too gratuitous, but that isn't necessarily something I would mind.
I fashion myself as something of an author, so I thought that instead of just reading, I might take a stab and writing a noir novel. But instead of just a plain dectective story, I wanted to throw a heaping helping of sex into the mix. Since the pulp genre had some spin-offs into the realm of pure eroticism, this combination isn't such a stretch.
The reason I started this blog was to provide a outlet where I can post chapters of my ongoing work, recieve feedback, and converse with other like-minded authors (not necessarily about noir, but eroticism in general). So please, feel free to comment on any postings, ask questions, or even give me a link to your own erotic fiction. I'm always happy to critique and review.
If you'd like to know a little more personal stuff about me, you can find some in an earlier posting I made on here. Just follow this link: http://phil-spade.livejournal.com/3275.html.
I look forward to talking with you all!
